Strategies for effective learning lesson plan (6th reflection)

Hello again my fellow friends. So, I will continue about lesson plan but this time I will explain the strategies for effective learning lesson plan.

Everyone was focused on sir Teo explanation about lesson plan, dont want to miss any information so that we can do it properly in our lesson plan assignments.

Sir Teo had explained to us about the strategies for effective lesson planning, he told us that there are 6 steps to create our first lesson plan. Which are:-
-         - Outline learning objective
-         - Develop the introduction
-         - Plan the specific learning activities (the main body of the lesson plan)
-         - Plan to check for understanding
-         - Develop a conclusion and preview
-         - Create a realistic timeline

Therefore, to be effective, the lesson plan does not have to been exhaustive document that describes each and every possible classroom scenario. Nor does it have to anticipate each and every student’s response or question. Instead it should provide us with a general outline of our teaching goals, learning objectives, and means to accomplish them. It is a reminder of what we want to do and how we want to do it. A productive lesson is not one in which everything goes exactly as planned, but one in which both students and instructor learn from each other.

What is lesson plan? (5th reflection)

Hello again everyone. These few weeks was a tough week though, there’s assignment, forums and I have to practice and teach my team member a few dance step for our “Hubungan Etnik” performance which is also for our assignment. Besides that, I’m not really good in organizing time that’s why I have to do multitasking on my weekends which is supposed to be my ‘relaxed day’. 😕😭
My Forum and Assignment reminder. 😆
Okay, let start with my 5th reflection which is about lesson plan.

Sir Teo explain to us about lesson plan. 😉
What is lesson plan?
It is one of the most important activities a teacher must do is to plan lessons.  In order to prepare students for success, lessons must be planned thoroughly and include all components of an essential curriculum.

What are we going to teach, how we will teach it, how will we determined if students ‘get it.

What do we need to know in order to write lesson plan?
-          - Objective to be taught/assessed
-          - Prior knowledge needed
-          - Materials to be used
-          - Learning styles of students
-          - How you will assess student mastery

As a soon teacher to be, I need to set my own philosophy and plan my lesson plan for students, we should not teach students without any objective in their learning because students need to learn step by step. Before planning a lesson, we need to have a clear idea of what the teaching objectives are. What, specifically, the student should be able to do, understand and care about.
We need to know the type of lesson to be presented, procedures to be followed, and behavioral expectations related to the lesson, what students are expected to do, what knowledge or skills are to be demonstrated and in what manner.  Students should be informed about what is expected of them.

That’s all. Stay tuned for my next reflection.

School of Thought - Behavioral (4th Reflection)

Hello everyone. For my 4th reflection would be the last topic for school of thought. My team member, Fikri and Rezwie will represent our group presentation. 😉✌

The third school of thought is Behavioral school of thought which is also called behaviornism.  As the name implies, it helps us to understand why we behave as we do, scientist finding out how external, environmental stimuli cause overt or observable learner behaviour and how modifying a learner’s environment can change behaviour.
There are four types of behaviourism which are contiguity, classical conditioning, operant conditioning and social learning. I will explain simply so that easier for us to understand.

Contiguity - It proposes that any stimulus and response connected in time and/or space will tend to be associated.

Classcial Conditioning - Classical conditioning is defined as conditioned response to a neutral stimulus after having been paired repeatedly with an unconditioned stimulus.

Operant Conditioning - Actions that are followed by reinforcement will be strengthened and more likely to occur again in the future. It is also a method of learning that occurs through rewards and punishments for behavior.

Social Learning - Bandura's Social Learning Theory posits that people can learn form one another, via observation, imitation, and modelling. The theory has often been called a bridge between behaviorists and cognitive learning theories because it encompasses attention, memory and motivation.

That's all for the topic school of thought. Hope we all can learn and understand well about the Theories School of Thought. Stay tuned for my next reflection. 😇💁
